Back to Work

Today was my first day back to work in 2021. Although I’m going to miss spending time with family during the day, I did miss my friends and colleagues. I missed our daily chats, funny jokes and nerdy stats. We had a team huddle in the afternoon. It was nice seeing everyone again and hearing how everybody spent their holiday. It’ll be good once we can go back into the office. Until then, working from home is working out pretty well.

Royal BC Museum

Last week, Griffin wanted to visit the Royal BC Museum because he was missing the woolly mammoth there. We booked a museum visit for today. We almost cancelled it because Anya was still not feeling well. Nana came for the rescue. We had a great time.

Something new I learned from the museum today: River Otter almost always swim “face down” with the body more or less submerged and only the head visible. Sea otter generally swim on their backs and always eat in the water using their chests as a table.

2021

2020 was cruel, unforeseen and tiring. We were extremely fortunate to have good health in the family, but I’m glad the year is finished. Let’s turn the page and leave that chapter behind.

In 2021, I’m adding writing to my goals list. There is a number of publications and evidence documenting the benefits of writing and how writing creates better individuals, crystalizes ideas and improves results. I’d be a fool if I don’t give it a try.

Anya was not feeling too well today. She stayed home and rested. The kids and I went for a hike with Nana at Durance Lake. It was wet, but refreshing.

Here’s to a better and brighter new year.
